Two things I don’t do often: post personal blogs or post about shooting film! But I love these portraits so much, I had to! This is one of the last assignments I did at Brooks. I chose to photograph a dear friend, Helen, with her beloved cat, Oliver, on Ilford HP5 film. While I continually try to shoot film, I may make a habit out of personal projects like this – film or digital. Thanks for looking :) I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

0 comments First off, Congratulations to Nick and Alyssa! They are probably walking the stage to receive their diploma’s as I type – such a great accomplishment! I have watched these two grow to be such confident, beautiful and independent people and they should be so proud of themselves! Alyssa and Nick are totally #twinning and are graduating from a South Bay Area high school in Gilroy, Christopher High. It was so great to capture their goofy, happy persona’s through my lens in celebration. Alyssa will be heading down south to UCLA, while Nick travels north to attend SFSU in the fall! Smarties! In summary, their mom’s email to me earlier this week: ”Good grief! Were there any bad shots??????? They are making me cry they are so beautiful!!” Hehe, love it! Enjoy!

:) I LOVE when old friends call me up because they’re getting married! It’s THE best to photograph people who have had a special place in my life. Sandra gave me my second best job I’ve ever had (you’re looking at #1 ;) )! She hired me at Apple back in 2008 for the store opening in Santa Barbara – a place I met some of my best friends and grew so much personally! Although we didn’t work with each other long, we’ve kept in touch and when I saw a new man popping up on her Facebook news, I knew he had to be something special! I really couldn’t be happier for Sandra and her all of her girls! Scott is a great man and will be a wonderful father figure to Sandra’s girls – I can’t wait to watch their love grow and to see what life brings them :) I am so happy for you both! Enjoy they’re beautiful pictures, taken at the Cliff Resort where Scott proposed and the beautiful San Luis Obispo beach below. 0 comments |
