New Camera Bag!

My first personal post – I figure why not, right? Yesterday was my birthday and I was gifted this cute little thing! Doesn’t it look like an everyday purse? I would definitely use it as mine! It’s actually a camera bag! It has a great lined inside with dividers like normal camera bags; but my favorite part (which makes it different than most bags) is that it has a CF Card holder within those front pockets. It’s the perfect size for what I carry around at weddings and fashionable! I just had to share : ) Now let’s book your wedding so we can put it to good use ; )

Earlier this week we shot a beautiful wedding on the Southern California Central coast in Santa Barbara at El Capitan State Beach. This is a short preview of Jonathan and Liz’s Santa Barbara wedding where they got married right on the shoreline on a beautiful sunny day. I’m super excited to share these images!

Mike and Lindsay’s Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding Ceremony

I’m very excited to show these images of Mike and Lindsay. It was a fun morning and an even more beautiful afternoon at the Santa Barbara Courthouse for Lindsay and Mike’s ceremony. Watching these two marry each other was absolutely beautiful. I really don’t have words for the moments that I was able to see and capture. Mike and Lindsay radiated love and excitement for each other during and especially after the ceremony, which was very special as I was able to watch it sink in that they really just got married! Mike and Lindsay – Santa Barbara Wedding

I’m just going to start out by saying Lindsay and Mike are awesome! They are hilarious and goofy and just a lot of fun. Lindsay first contacted me through Craigslist and all 3 of us later met at Starbucks on the Mesa in Santa Barbara. Upon emailing with Lindsay, she definitely made it known she wasn’t a traditional bride by any means! Lindsay and Mike planned a small ceremony, where I was the only guest/photographer/witness/friend.When I first met Lindsay and Mike, I was able to get their story and plan for their special day on April 18th – and let me tell you, they may not have thought it was romantic initially but I sure did! The more and more we talked, the more and more I fell in love with their plans to tie the knot. Not telling their friends and family was super exciting and they were able to enjoy the day all for each other.

The morning of the wedding ceremony, we met at Loon’s Point in Summerland, Ca, just south of Santa Barbara. We headed to this secluded beach (I had no idea where it was!) and just hung out. Not used to being in front of the camera, I had to convince them to let me photograph them the morning of the wedding ceremony; and to be honest, I could not tell that they were uncomfortable/nervous/etc. and the pictures turned out awesome! I think we both were glad we decided to photograph that morning ; ) I’m super happy for Mike and Lindsay, thank you for allowing me into your lives for your special day! I’m truly honored that I was able to be apart of it.

Santa Barbara Family Portraits – The Pattersons

It’s true! These family portraits were taken in Santa Barbara while my partner-in-crime, the love of my life’s family was in town visiting us. No one is used to having a camera in their face, but the Patterson’s made it look easy in their family portraits. We really enjoyed having them visiting, it’s always nice having family visit! Making our move from Santa Barbara in June, I was happy to photograph Zach and his family before we leave this lovely beach town! Gilroy Couple – MY PARENTS

This last weekend Zach and I spent the week in my hometown of Gilroy, Ca. Known for it’s garlic, it’s also beautiful for it’s scenery! This just so happened to take place in the backyard of my parents house:) So pleased to introduce my mom and dad, Michele & Duane!

These two have been married for over 20 years!

My dad is super goofy, like can’t keep a straight face ESPECIALLY in front of a camera goofy!

Check out the cool rocking chairs my parents got for Christmas! To accompany: tree stumps from a fallen tree in our backyard.

Also, meet our 3 puppies! Champ, Mel and Cindy. Mel is Champ’s pup and Cindy (short for Cinderella) is Mel’s pup. Cindy is really the only puppy. All born and raised in good ole’ Gilroy. It’s not uncommon that we change their names to Champ-y and Mel-y, hence Cindy’s nick name ; )

Santa Barbara Couple – Danielle and John

Ellwood Monarch Preserve, Santa Barbara – Brittany

I’m so lucky to have met Brittany while in Santa Barbara ! This girl truly inspired me to continue to photograph lifestyle portraiture; our shoot was so much fun! While I had an amazing photo shoot with Brittany, my sidekick, Zach ; ), was able to get some awesome video of our shoot at the Ellwood Monarch Preserve. Santa Barbara Couple – Hannah and Cody

Hello, welcome to my new blog! Meet my first couple and friends, Cody and Hannah, from Santa Barbara! I’m so happy to be finally sharing these beautiful photos of these two with everyone! Hannah and I met a couple years ago when we both got hired on at Apple (we actually met at our first interview !) and we both met Cody shortly after. Hannah, obviously, took more interest to him than I did ; )

The three of us made the most of the portrait session by hanging around Santa Barbara and going to a quiet park up on the Riviera. I am so glad I was able to photograph their relationship before my graduation and big move back to San Jose in Northern California.

Santa Barbara has so many different backstreets we were able to stand in the road in the middle of the day!
